While the classroom rules and consequences cab be improved, I rather have my rules be overlooked and hear my students opinion on the rules. If the rules were too complex for them to understand we can have a discussion after school to reword the rules.
This will promote the students to have an understanding behind the rules I give. The students can see that the rules are there to protect them from becoming the bully that all the teachers warn them about.
Also this gives them the experience of interacting with each other outside the classroom. I will admit that the collaboration method is not one of my favorites, but I am willing to allow it if it means that the students learning will improve.
Along with the improvement of the curricula that the collaboration provided can improve the cultural that each student has. The students that work with each other will learn something about the classmates and could follow what they are doing.
An example is if Student A sings the vocabulary, perhaps Student B will try it out. The students don't necessarily have to try it, but learn about it so that they can be aware of each other
